[EXCLUSIVE] Review: BEYOND Real Mineral BB Cream & Real Mineral Glow Highlighter

Christmas break has started!
More time at home, more sleep, more TV shows to watch, more fictions to read (not fanfics duh), more chance of savings, and most importantly, more time to finish my assignments....
The unpleasant reality of this so called Christmas break is that we, students, were given tons of irrational assignments that must be finished by new year. Oh I forgot, the worst part is that every subject, I repeat every subject have their own crazy assignments.

Anyway, my Christmas break isn't so awful since I was given a chance to try and review products from Beyond Indonesiaaaaaa ~ !

The products that I have here is a BB cream and Highlighter from the Real Mineral Range. Additional products that I receive are samples of Butterfull Body Lotion that contains argan oil and shea butter, as well as the True Eco Charm Organic First Essence.

The BB cream and Highlighter are the products that I receive from Beyond Indonesia, exclusively for review purpose. While the samples are bonuses from the store.

Beyond Real Mineral BB Cream (SPF37,PA++)

Description

This triple functional mineral BB cream provides a complete cover up on skin while keeping skin moisturized. Natural minerals do not block pores, which allows a healthy environment for sensitive skin. The skin-friendly complex for moisturizing and soothing effect turns skin healthy and soft.

The BB Cream came with a box that were made of recycled paper. As far as I know, the Real Mineral line were the only products that uses recycled paper. This gave me a sophisticated impression of the product line, since it was simple with only the matching colored writings without colorful and cute graphics. 

The product has a soft scent of honey. Well, that's what I think, lol. Since I loved dewy look, I am pretty happy that this BB cream helped me pulling up that look. The BB cream itself brightens my skin and covers the imperfections such as redness, large pores, dark spots and even blemishes.

Below is the before and after pic of how the BB cream looked when applied on my skin. I don't understand why my skin looked so damaged on this picture. Yes, my face is dry, I have redness and also have large pores that pops out like goosebumps. My skin tone is also quite uneven.

I never thought that my skin was as bad as how it looked up there ;A; I guess the camera made it worse, lol

Okay, the BB cream really covers the redness of my skin and made my skin looked smoother. If you look closer, on the bottom right of the before picture I have a dark spot which was 'gone' on the second picture, after I use the product.

Shits' Not Working

This is a major issue of a life of an 18 year old student of the 21st century. My cellphones with a capital S are not working. 2014 is definitely not the year where I'm able to communicate with others. Tragic things, I repeat tragic things happen to my cellphones and I really can't stand how it slowed down my efforts and capabilities of doing my job, assignments, and everything that I must do. The worst part is, it also inflict financial loss.

This is really complicated and no matter how hard I try to explain people will always be like, "wat".

April 2014

Samsung Galaxy Note 1 is my cellphone since September 2012. I love Note 1 so much because of it's wide HD screen and all the features that it has. Unfortunately, that day, that day where I was so stupid, careless, and reckless. I left my cellphone on a very edge of a table and it fell. And the screen breaks. I believe nothing was wrong with the system because it still rang when it receive phone calls.

May 2014

By the end of May, Dad finally bought me Samsung Galaxy Grand 2. May was a very busy month for me because I was focusing on Performing Arts. I was one of the cast and I have weekly rehearsals. 

Anyway, not that I was feeling ungrateful, I don't really have that happy feeling when receiving the new phone. I don't know, it's weird. 

August 2014

It was Ied Mubaraq, time for family reunion. One of my cousin have this addiction - somewhat obsession towards cellphone and she roughly grabbed my cellphone and droped with the screen facing on the hard marble floor. Got troubles with the LCD screen. 30% damage, details are still visible, phone features works properly

September

I can't tell whether the fall gave damage towards my internet connectivity, cus my internet connection suddenly sucks. I can't even receive instant messages. I can't tell if it's the provider's issue because my family uses the same provider and they didn't face any problem(s).

October 2014

Absolute screen blackout. System still works perfectly. Sometimes I can still answer phone calls or turn on portable wifi because I just seem to remember how.

November 2014

Used my sister's cellphone which also had issues.

1. Version is too old, cellphone often crash

2. Cannot be charged properly, something is wrong with the port

3. The phone battery also cannot contain power. I need to charge the cellphone for 2 days for the use of 6 hours. 

4. Unable to read sim card, so the cellphone doesn't use a sim card. Messaging apps are very important to me so I can still rely on wifi. Anyway, guess what, I use my Grand as a portable wifi. Therefore I use 2 broken cellphones everyday to complete my life.

By mid November, things are getting worse.

December

Officially phone-less.

Another Post of 'BEYOND'

If you have read my previous post, I have wrote about a pop up store of Beyond that is located at Kota Kasablanka. I have mentioned that Beyond is a very unique Korean cosmetic brand that campaigns to save the environment, earth, and animals. Beyond carries on a campaign against animal testing and promises that it will consistently take eco-friendly action and respect life.

A phew weeks ago I was contacted by Beyond Indonesia to do a review of Beyond's latest product. I was so happy and excited. To find out the best product for me, Mima, a representative from Beyond contacted me to ask about my skin type. She's a very nice person, she's also a fast-responder.

Finally, I was informed on Wednesday that the product for me was ready at Beyond's store at Mall Taman Anggrek. I browsed online to find information about the store and found out that the store just opened and Beyond is having 10% sale for all items! Wow.. it's a new store. 

So the next day, I payed a visit to Beyond MTA and bought my professional camera /grins/

Okay so I had this happy feeling of entering a new store. Well, I guess everyone does, lol! The testers were still in perfect condition and it means that I am one of the first to try XD

The Beyond 'Kids' above are lotion, body wash and shampoo. I absolutely loved the packaging because it looked more like bathroom decorations rather than normal squirt bottles. Just look at the details above the leaf! A snail and a ladybug <3

After I was happy with the pictures that I took, I bought myself 2 pieces of mask sheets (they're so good, that was my third purchase of the product) and then I asked whether there were anything for me.

A huge smile was plastered on my face as soon as I read the adorable note from the package. Firstly, they spelled my name correctly with a double L! My name is often misspelled with a single L and almost everybody did that. Secondly, I absolutely loved the choice of words that were written on the note, you are one step to save mother nature. XD And last but not least, /take  a deep breath/  a BB cream and a highlighter! Gosh I'm currently running out of BB cream (I'm using a sunblock from skinfood now) and I don't have any highlighters since my sister broke it a phew months ago (which made me uses gold shimmering eye shadow instead).

[141122] Hint of Red

You may have known from my previous posts that I really want my hair to be like Narcissa Malfoy. For you that are curious about this Narcissa, she is a fictional character from Harry Potter. Yes, Malfoy. Now you know.

It took almost a month to achieve this almost white-colored hair. Since my natural hair color is dark brown, I need to bleach my hair 3 times. Many of my friends bleached their hair more than 3 times and the lightest color they can get is medium blonde. While for me, my hair reached light blonde. Well, to achieve this color I did many researches to find the best hair bleach which led me to a professional hair supply store. That store have everything you need to open a hair salon; from hairspray, hair vitamins, hair dye, bleach & peroxides, extensions, and even rainbow colored wigs. I carefully choose the bleaching powder and peroxides, and for the peroxide I use the 12% strength (40vol) peroxide. 

Yes I do realize that 40vol peroxide may caused serious hair damage, and that is the reason I bleached my hair once a week since November 7. Therefore, I have a week to recover the health of my hair using hair serums and masks. 

Anyway, there's nothing to do with "a hint of red". Well yeah the photos clearly have a hint of red, but that's just it.

I absolutely wanted to take artistic selcas to express my happiness for my new hair. And here they are. Off the record, people at collage made fun of the ulzzang side of me and my instagram account. Well, it's not really serious, we laughed at it together but still, it really bothers me. And for this reason, on these photos here I didn't use my circle lens and my makeup was not as heavy as the ulzzang makeup.

Sorry for the poor quality and unprofessional photographs. You see, I use a 2mp front camera to took the photos and do the editing with free mobile apps. I do have a professional camera and I know how to operate it, but my 2 year old simcard-less ugly cellphone is all I need.

Aaw I've been having serious trouble with my cellphone(s). I don't need to explain the details because all messed up phone madness has occurred since last August and all those shits drove me mad.

I love flowers. My favorite flowers are Hydrangea, Daisy, Sunflower, Tulip, and Lotus. I'm not sure whether the one I got here are daisies, lol. It looked like Daisies but are they Daisies?

Oh it feels so good to be here. I got so much to but I'm quite in a tight schedule. I don't even know what should I don't write here because so much happens during the past phew weeks and it's pretty hard to make a simple post.

Hmm.. it's hard to describe how busy I am. Oh my that previous sentence really made me sound like a snobbish ratchet. But I'm serious tho, this is my first free weekend after about a month.

Last weekend I literally spent most of my time at Teater Jakarta. For two days I left home on 7 am and came back on 1 am. Well, not really.. On saturday I left on 1pm but still, I came back on 1 am. lol... I was working on a decorative panel booth and also being an usher for an incredible event. I may blog about last week but my previous weeks are not even lest interesting than last week.

I choose to be busy. Joining a club and be an officer. Those are the things that I love to do, pushing my limits and see what I am capable of. You will never know unless you try.

That's all I can say for now.

Review: ETUDE HOUSE Silk Scarf Hologram Hair Serum

Hair problems. Who doesn't have them? For me, I think my hair is damaged to the bleach and coloring that I did in the past phew months (it's been a year tho). I mostly struggle from hair breakage. My mom told me that people normally loses their hair everyday. However, what makes me worried is that my hair is naturally thin and I don't want to to get my hair thinner

One day, I was at the mall and I entered the Etude House store and bought myself the Silk Scarf Hologram hair serum because it cost less than IDR 100.000. The hair products are the only products which has the same price as the Korean retail price while the other products are 2-4 times the Korean retail price.

The Silk Scarf hair treatments consists of different variants which I will explain later on this post, and it was such a dilemma to choose which one I need. I talked to the SA and she told me that the hair serum treats hair problems better than the others.

Description:
Specially formulated with oil complex and floral scent, this anti frizz creates exceptional shine while sealing the cuticle with a moisturizing layer 

Directions: Distribute evenly throughout clean, towel-dried hair, concentrating on the ends

The serum doesn't seem to prevent my breakage. Instead, it made my hair super smooth! Half of my hair is bleached and after using this product regularly, my bleached hair is as smooth as my normal hair.

I thought the Silk Hair line have the same function but in a different type. Just like the face products that consisted of toner, essence, emulsion, and cream. However, I was wrong. I read each description of each products from the Etude House website and here's what I concluded:

Double Hair Mask - Do-It-Yourself treatment for permed and colored hair
Hair Mist - Enhance shine and boosts hair's shine while providing vital nutrients
Hair Ampoule - Treatment for colored and damaged hair while protects the color from fading
Moist Pack - Nourishes very dry hair to minimize breakage
Hair Essence - Coats split ends and delivers long lasting moisture
Hair Treatment - Restores damaged hair and prevents future breakage
Hair Serum - Anti-frizz serum that seals the cuticle with a moisturizing layer

I think what I actually need is the Moist Pack or Hair Ampoule......
Anyway, let's get straight to the pros and cons

- Affordable price
- Do as what it was told on the description
- Smoothness last for 2 days!

- Doesn't treat my hair problem

Today I have the 'Public Relations Writing' class that requires a laptop. I don't like my laptop. Yea I love the fact that this babe I have hear have a huge screen, but the 9lbs weight really ruins everything. I go to collage by foot (and bus) and my house is at least a 2 hour drive from campus so yeeeaaaaaaaaaaa it's heavy.

Review: TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL Party Time Single Shadow - #1, #4, & #14

September is a really busy month and I can't seem to spend an hour to blog. Anyway, this is a review that I have wrote for like, 7 months ago but never had the chance to post it because I rarely use the product, and I'm not sure whether my review is okay.

I'm not really a fan of eye shadows. My eyelids doesn't support me to be applied by eye shadow. They are really deep (made me looked like I have monolids) and also oily. I never even use eye shadows when taking ulzzang selcas. 

Okay so the reason I purchased these adorable eye shadows is because my sister wanted to get this vintage look, she needed these shades and I suggested her to use TCFS' because they are larger than other brand's single shadow and their packaging are a lot cuter. I didn't think about the quality cos in my opinion all eye shadows are just the same.

Claims

Highy adhesive! Highly durable! Lecitin coating powder stays moist for a long, long time

Bright and clearly luminous pearl. Shimmer type base shadow expresses a clean & pure color

Magic powder! Taking in sweat and oil, dryness and color remains morn till night

The claims sounds promising ~

Here's how I use those eye shadows

#1 Wedding Bouquets - Matte white shade that can be use to highlight the features of the face naturally without the shimmering sparkles. It is best for the supraorbital ridge, or commonly known as the brow bone. I rarely use it to highlight my nose bridge and cheek bones because the white color is too light for my skin tone which made it looked grey.

#4 Light Gold - Gold shimmering shade that I usually use as a highlighter when taking Ulzzang inspired selcas. On camera, it gives a noticeable dewy look that doesn't looked glittery. Use it on the forehead, nose bridge, cheek bones and chin to create dimension and emphasize features. Morever, I also use it to create the Korean Ulzzangs' Aegyo-ssal. Since this shade is shimmering, it may looked a little too much for daily use, therefore I suggest to use it on special occasions or events that requires heavy makeup. 

#14 Night Grey - Tbh I never used this one lol

✔ Pros

- Wide range of colors

- Adorable packaging

- Can be used for different purpose 

✘Cons

- Not really pigmented

- Yep, just like normal eye shadow, nothing special

Temptation

I can't believe it. I'm really not coming to the concert.

I can't believe that I let myself, I managed to hold my temptations, for EXO! I'm currently having this mix feeling. I'm absolutely proud of myself, triumphant because I really hold my temptations, but on the other hand I felt so sad, some kinda betrayal because I did not go to the concert.

Remember about 'Emergency EXO'? If you don't, Emergency EXO is a little piggy bank that is specially dedicated for EXO's concert. By the end of 2013 my sister and I started our savings. Our savings are actually enough to see the concert, but there were some reasons that we didn't bought the ticket.

I think the major reason is because my sister Zay and I are drifting away from KPop. Drift-ing, not -ed. So until this very moment we are getting more distance. Since Kris left EXO, I can't barely see the group anymore. I am a TaoRis shipper and it really hurts to see Tao's swollen eyes. Not so long after The Tragedy of Wufan there's another news, Baekhyun is officially dating Taeyeon.

I'm not mad at them, absolutely not. I'm very happy for them. I'm glad that Kris left EXO because he deserves better than SM. Of course every good byes are painful, but it's the start of a new beginning. I have my own theory and speculations of why Kris left, and it made me felt better. Kris is not a traitor, he's just an ordinary human being who demands his right. As for Baekhyun.. I personally don't really like relationships where the woman is older than the man. Not that I'm saying that I don't think Taeyeon is no good for Baekhyun, no, not at all. Taeyeon is one of my bias in SNSD and she is an incredible person. I'm happy for them, espepcially Taeyeon is Baekhyun's bias! What a dream come true?!

I just need time to get my head straight. I avoided KPop and it has been more than 3 months. I don't know whether I will get back into KPop or just, being an average fan of anything western, like any normal teenager. I'm definitely still into Korean cosmetics because they have the best kind of cosmetics.

Back with EXO, EXO is the first Korean boygroup that I love. Well, U-Kiss actually brought me into KPop but EXO is the reason I'm still loving KPop. I already like them since they were still rumors, they were still M1 and M2. Now, it's been 2 years since their official debut and I am very happy too see how succesful they are now.

Anyway, another reason why I didn't watch EXO is because there are SMTOWN IV had started and I'm 100% positive that they would held a concert in Indonesia. So, it's better that I watched SMTOWN rather than TLP :'D I think it is a wise decision.

Review: HANSKIN Super Plus Perfect BB Cream - No. 2

Hanksin is one of a Korean cosmetic brand that is famous for their great BB creams. Why? Because BB cream were originally created by Hanskin! In 2006, Hanskin's CEO Mr. Hyeon Suk Lee, who suffers skin problem his own, successfully develop this wonder cream for himself. Thus, the first BB cream was born! Later, BB cream became a craze in the entertainment industry. The trend soon spread to Japan, South East Asia, and to the rest of the world. You can read the full history here.

What's so special about Hanskin's BB cream is the natural ingredients used which does not irritate the skin, and not only that it is safe to use, it also improves skin problems. In addition, their BB creams has passed UV isolation and standard testing promulgated by Korea Food & Drug Administration (KFDA).

At first, I wasn't quite happy with the color because I thought shade number 2 was too dark for my skin tone. Well, I only tried it on the back of my hand and it was too dark. Hence, I mixed the BB cream with foundation when applying to face. In only days I was already tired enough mixing /LOL/ so I decided to use the BB cream alone.

Turns out that the result is not as disappointing as I expected. The shade seem to be brighter when blended. The problem that I have is that the product has a pale pink undertone and it made me looked quite ghostly. After a while (about 30 minutes or more, depends on the weather etc) the color seem to blend naturally on my face, giving me a bright natural finish.

The picture below is not the true color of the BB cream. The upper image is too dark while the lower one is too bright.

As you can see, the BB cream really covers the imperfection on my skin (spots) and evens my skin tone. It also cover the pores on my face, giving me a flawless look.

- Long lasting, about 5-7 hours
- Not drying

✘Cons
- Pricey. It cost KRW 37,000
- Quite hard to blend. (Tip: with you fingers, dab the product when applying on face)
- Only available in 2 shades
- Not available in some countries. It's also quite hard to find the brand on online stores.

Giving a second chance for Etude House's lip stick, I bought myself the Dear My Blooming Lipstalk in shade BE104 which is a color of brownish pink. I thought (and many people said) that the average bright pink tint color looks good on me, but that was until I found one of my Mom's old brown lipstick that she never used.

I wanted to try brownish colors, with undertones either pink or orange, or even dark beige. The color that I want was quite rare, I can't find any brands beside Etude House, Innisfree, and 3 Concept Eyes. Hence, I bought Etude House because it cost a lot cheaper than other brands.

I was disappointed by the fact that the lipstick had melt before I even use it. In other words, it melted during the shipping period to my place. It's not really a big deal since the bullet shape is still pretty and perfect, just, not as how I expected. It's barely unseen tho, just see the pic below. Well, if it's visible enough lol

Just like any other lipstick from Etude House, this one also have that pretty heart carving on the surface of the bullet.

I was glad that the color turned out to be how I expected to be; almost exactly how it was on the promotional picture, not too bright and not too dark, just the sweet brownish pink I wanted.
